Greetings, readers! There’s much to report on today. But first, a request: As you can imagine, it takes time and money to report the local dining scene. I’m hoping you’ll help support this newsletter with a free or paid subscription.


A Fine Lunch at Either/Or

UPDATE: November 2024: I am so sad to report that the wonderfully fresh side options for lunch at Either/Or were no longer on the menu on my visit! I was so disappointed, as this really helped distinguish the restaurant from other lunch spots. The excellent menu posted below is no longer available. Check their website for current offerings. So sad about this!

Either/Or, indeed! At lunch, you can choose smaller-sized sandwiches and creative sides or you can go all in with full-sized sandwiches and fries.

Lunch in our more casual restaurants can be trying for those of us who don’t like to go big. Most sandwich options, especially, are supersized and come with fries (or a choice of a none-too-exciting side salad). At such places, I often end up ordering some kind of main-dish salad, then completely envying those at the table with the more gratifying items, like the Korean philly …
