Hello there!

Last week, I told you about a gathering in Winterset on July 26 that’s being held by the entire Iowa Writers’ Collaborative for all paid subscribers to any Substack within our collaborative. If you missed that invite, please check it out—and save the date.

But wait! That’s not all….

The Weary Ramblers. Hear them on the farm in a special appearance.

As a paid subscriber, you’re invited to a special event hosted by a smaller circle of IWC members. Farmer and writer Beth Hoffman, who pens the In the Dirt column on sustainable farming, is welcoming us to her farm for a concert by the Weary Ramblers—a duo featuring fellow IWC writers and musicians Kathryn Severing Fox and Chad Elliot.

Details:
Who: Beth, Wini, Kathryn, Chad, and paid subscribers to their Substacks.
What: A concert featuring Kathryn and Chad’s duo, The Weary Ramblers.
When: Sunday, June 29; 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Whippoorwill Creek Farm; 5655 120th Street, Lovilia, Iowa.
Why: To enjoy great music and get a glimpse of what Beth and her husband, John Hogeland, have built in Lovilia. They raise beef, goats, and vegetables without sprays, chemicals, or GMO grains—and they’re also early leaders in Iowa’s agri-tourism scene. Their hilltop farm includes a restored barn with two bedrooms that’s available for rent, and they use the space to host cooking classes and writing workshops.

More Details:
Cost: Admission is free to paid subscribers to any one of our Substacks—one ticket per subscription. You can add a plus-one for $20.
Food: Bring your own picnic! Or, pre-order a meal to enjoy at the farm.
Etc.: Please bring your own chairs and blankets.

Be sure to RSVP—Link Is Below (For Paid Subscribers)

If you’re not a paid subscriber, you can subscribe now—details on how to get your ticket will be sent once you subscribe.
