Fresh and Fantastic Street Tacos in a Mucho Cute Ambiance
Does Faustino's serve the best tacos in town? I won't even go there! But I will go back to this charming Franklin Avenue spot.

“It’s very Austin,” commented one friend after she visited Faustino’s Taqueria. Agree. There’s a great vibe at this Franklin Plaza spot, which opened last year. With its whimsical phrases on the walls, natural light from the slanted windows (a charming relic of the mid-century shopping plaza), and vibrantly hued Tolix chairs, the quirky-yet-thoughtful decor made me instantly happy.
Eighteen varieties of street-style tacos anchor the menu; find anything from chorizo, carnitas, beef shank, and steak, to tripe, head, and tongue. And chicken and shrimp. And more. Tacos are priced $3.50 o $4.00, and for me, two were plenty for lunch, with a shared side of rice.
