I Never Would Have Dined Here If Seeta Hadn't Told Me About It!
At Local Bites, we found some of the best chicken fingers (yes, chicken fingers) ever—plus hand-cut fries. And we're happy to report that Local Bites has made a notable splash in the K-cuisine boom.
Wini’s Note: When contributor Seeta Mangra-Stubbs asked me if I’d be interested in a story on Local Bites, I said “Huh? What?” When she explained where it was—the former Locust Street “Mall” Food Court—my response was far from electric, “Hasn’t that sad little place gone the way of all things?” I thought.
Well, no. Not only is it up and running—albeit with a few empty counters—Seeta scored some finds here. And when she and I visited together, I felt like she’d done what every restaurant writer loves doing: she found something worth our attention in an inauspicious spot.
P.S.: I’m excited to announce that Seeta Mangra-Stubbs is now writing her own Substack, Gems, Guides, and Goodies. She’s devoted to finding off-the-beaten-path food finds like these.
