Note: Every two weeks, in addition to my usual column, I’ll post a roundup of random-but-great tidbits I’m finding on the Des Moines dining scene. Here’s my first in the series.

A True Sneak Peek at the New Lua Brewing Site

Images of the upcoming Lua Brewing spot.

I was so excited to read in the Des Moines Register that Lua Brewing is opening a sister location—especially since it’s even closer to where I live. The spot will be at 6222 Grand Avenue (across the street from the McDonalds and next door to Pal Joey’s).

Sunday morning, I drove over to take a look (a true sneak peek)—see above photos. With the green-space of the soccer field, it’s a beautiful spot for a patio. And it’s east facing—none of that sun-in-your-eyes business in the early evening. Opening date wasn’t revealed, but it looks like it’ll still be a little while. I’ll report back if/when I hear anything.
