While covering the dining scene, I often come across finds and tidbits that don’t require an entire newsletter, but are newsworthy nonetheless. I’ve collected some of them here—along with a few thoughts on the scene in general.

This Just In: “Tous le Jours” Coming to Jordan Creek

I hadn’t heard from “Bill the Informant” in a while, but the other day, he popped up with a juicy little tip: a building permit has been filed for a business called Tous les Jours, a French-Asian bakery-café chain. It’s headed for 6880 EP True Pkwy, Suite 101 (in a “newer strip north of Dillard’s,” per Bill’s impeccable intel).

A little sleuthing revealed that Tous les Jours originated in South Korea and now has more than 1,650 locations worldwide. They landed in the U.S. in 2004 and serve up bread, cakes, sandwiches, pastries, coffee—you get the idea: a bakery-cafe.
