My Favorite Restaurant Patio (So Far). And Some Mighty Fine Tacos, Too
If there's a more generously flowered patio than the one at Blue Agave, I'd like to hear about it!
It’s here—Iowa’s brief and fleeting patio season, that sweet spot in our climate after the parkas have been put away but before we get chewed up by mosquitos and done in by our famous humidity.
To celebrate, I thought I’d share a new-to-me find, the patio at Blue Agave. A friend and reader tipped me off to this place when she wrote:
“Their outdoor patio is one of the most beautiful places to dine, with white floral streamers and blooming planters. The ambiance along with the warm weather put us in the mood to stay awhile, split a margarita flight, and try a couple new tacos on their menu. A delightful evening!”
Who wouldn’t want to give that a try?
My spouse, Dave, and I headed there for a lunchtime visit, and indeed, the patio is just so pleasant—bright, airy, and colorful, with joyful aqua-blue and white floral streamers and lush flowerpots generously teaming with blossoms. Although the midday sun streamed through the lattice ceiling, we were able to snag a table in the full shade.
