Review of Oak Park

Another look at this highly ambitious high-end restaurant.

The Ingersoll-facing room and the east room at Oak Park.

When I reviewed Oak Park in autumn of 2024, I came away thinking that, for all its promise, the restaurant was still finding its footing. While a pork belly appetizer, a steak with their signature fries, and desserts all landed, a few other dishes were harder to read: portion sizes swung from spare to generous, a crab mafalda lost some of its finesse to a sharp lemon verbena crumble, and a few plates arrived less than hot.

Yet I’ve always appreciated the restaurant’s ambition: Oak Park aims high at a time when, given these brutal times for the restaurant industry, the wiser move might be to play it safe. All the more reason to take another look.

How did it go? Below, you’ll find my candid report.
