A first look at Either/Or: 6222 Grand Ave, Des Moines; 515-214-1831.

This morning, I met a friend for a lovely walk at Maffitt Reservoir, and on my drive home, I noticed a few empty parking spaces at the new Either/Or restaurant—the highly anticipated sister spot to Lua Brewing.

Why the heck wouldn’t I give it a try?

While I learned a long time ago not to do full food reviews at restaurants until they’ve been open at least a month, opportunity was knocking. I couldn’t wait to offer you an early look.

But first, let me start with two pressing matters.

1. Did you know Either/Or takes reservations?

Yes! On Open Table. For some reason, I just didn’t expect this. (Lua, after all, does not.) Given the immense popularity of this spot, I suggest making reservations. By the time I left, there was quite the lineup of parties waiting for a table.
