Win Four Tickets to Winefest's Sips in the City. (The Odds are Great, BTW).
And if you're feeling splashy, check out their Prima Dinners, too.
UPDATE: The contest has ended and the prize has been claimed! But there are still tickets available to Sips in the City AND the Prima Dinners. Read on if you’re interested.
Winefest. Val Air Ballroom. Four Free Tickets.
Winefest’s Sips in the City event will be held on Friday, June 14th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year, the event moves to the Val Air Ballroom.
What a great chance to see the newly renovated space!
Tickets are $50 each, but Natasha Sayles at Winefest is giving me four free tickets to give away to my Substack readers. That’s a $200 value!
How to enter? Simply subscribe to this Substack newsletter. No purchase necessary — there’s a free subscription option! On May 29, I will randomly choose a winner from the list of new subscribers between May 24 at 8:30 a.m. and May 29 at 5 p.m.
Wait! What if you’re already a subscriber? Forward this email to a friend. If they subscribe and win, they’ll get four tickets. And for heaven’s sake, tell them they’d better invite you!
The odds here are good. It’s not like thousands and thousands of people will subscribe (if only…). It’s worth a shot.
P.S.: You can also simply buy tickets on the Winefest site.
Tickets Still Available for the Prima Dinners
And, for those of you with deep pockets…
Natasha also mentioned that tickets were still available for the Winefest Prima dinners. The one featuring Aaron Holt has sold out, but dinners at the following venues, featuring the following chefs and wineries (including Dom Ianarelli at his new Prime & Providence restaurant)—are still available:
The Home of Aaron and Karen Kennedy featuring Chef Cole Gruis with Aposto and Chateau Boswell Winery
Prime and Providence featuring Chef Dominic Iannarelli and DAOU Vineyards
The Home of Christopher and Erin Kuhl featuring Chef Ryan Skinner with Harbinger and Round Pond Estate Winery
Table 128 featuring Chef Lynn Pritchard and Rootdown Wine Cellars
The dinners are held on June 6, starting at 6:30. Tickets cost $300 each. (“They are truly exquisite events,” says Natasha.). More info here.

I’m a member of this group of professional journalists and writers from across Iowa. Today, I’d like to highlight another member, Kyle Munson, who recently wrote a great article on the reopening of the Val Air Ballroom—where that Sips and the City event will be held. Give it a read!
