Review of Bix & Co.
We enjoyed a lovely patio, stellar service, and highly satisfying bar-grill food at this new(ish) Valley Junction restaurant.
According to an article in Monday’s Wall Street Journal, “42% of consumers who dined out in May were frustrated by the lack of staff.” That’s down only slightly from a peak of 45% in February.
I’m willing to bet that many of us who have dined out lately have landed among that 42%. Hopefully, we’ve all been patient as restaurateurs continue to staff up and meet the equal challenges of training newcomers to the intricacies of the biz. As for me, I’ve become so used to glitchy service, I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to go to a place where everything hums along just fine. (One truly great recent exception was Louie’s Wine Dive.)
Let me tell you: They’ve got it it all figured out at Bix & Co. The great vibe started with the pleasant welcome at a host stand. We had a somewhat picky request for a table (on the patio, in the shade, not a high-top). The keyed-in greeter seemed to truly enjoy leading us to the exact kind of table we requested.
